This unique Park, the eastern headland of Port Phillip Bay, includes 470 Ha of coastal landscape featuring ocean and bay beaches with rare and endangered flora and fauna. Significant buildings include a range of 20th century defensive fortifications and gun emplacements and the extensive former Quarantine Station, a complex of 80 buildings, many of very high heritage significance, dating from the 1850s. TZG, with Taylor Cullity Lethlean, have been engaged by Parks Victoria to develop the master plan for the ongoing conservation of the place, and its adaptation to provide for a vibrant and sustainable mix of public, commercial and educational uses.

O-Bahn Extension

In a multi-million dollar program, the SA Government is joined by the Federal Government to upgrade Adelaide’s highly-successful on-road mass transit O-Bahn. New dedicated busways will extend the northern suburbs O-Bahn track into the historic city centre, with detailed traffic management, place making and infrastructure. TZG is working with Taylor Cullity Lethlean to provide an efficient and iconic public transport precinct which is a memorable and vibrant place, providing sustainable transport and contributing to future growth of the city.

EnergyAustralia Smart Home

The “Smart Home’ will be a real-life laboratory developed within an existing house in Sydney’s Newington, which already includes a range of energy-saving technologies. This ‘house of the future’ will be refitted to showcase and test new technologies to reduce household energy and water use, including alternative electricity supply and storage options, such as micro-generation and battery storage technology, fully interactive smart metering to manage real-time consumption at every point, and the benefits of a HAN environment. The project will support a cutting-edge electric vehicle.

The Smart Home will be integrated with EnergyAustralia’s Smart Village program for newington, which will use the best energy and water management technology available to give 1,000 households the ability to reduce their environmental footprint and their household utility bills.

The Smart Home will accommodate a family who will report live on their experience with the new technologies as they are installed. TZG is working with Ellen Woolley Architects on this forward looking project.

Wyong Cultural Centre

In late 2009 Tonkin Zulaikha Greer were awarded the job of principle consultant to design and document a new cultural centre for Wyong Shire to be located in Wyong and accommodate a 450 seat theatre, 150 seat studio and associated spaces including a 100 seat restaurant.

Burton Street Tabernacle

Located on the corner of Burton and Palmer Streets, the Burton Street Tabernacle operated as a Baptist Church from 1887 until 1996. The Tabernacle was a favourite place of worship for many Sydneysiders for decades and was the source of inspiration for pavement scribe Arthur Stace’s most famous message, ‘Eternity’, which he wrote on Sydney footpaths for over 30 years. The City of Sydney purchased the Tabernacle in 2004 and have commissioned TZG to restore the historic building into a new cultural and community facility that will house the Darlinghurst Theatre Company and be the home for community and cultural events including performance and visual arts exhibitions.
